Children tend to spend most of their time
on leisure activities. Therefore, parents attempt to provide pastimes that
include the most educational impacts. I disagree with the opinion that children’s leisure
activities must be educational, although it is useful to learn skills from a
young age. For reference, I would like to define ‘educational’ as activities
that involve academic knowledge and is intended for academic purpose. In this
essay, I will offer my opinion regarding these issues.
Firstly, pastimes that do not include
educative effects can still encourage children to obtain social skills. In
general, people often neglect essential skills, such as cooperation,
leadership, communication skills, and classify them as non-educational. Children (너무 많이 쓰이고 있으니까 가급적이면 중간중간에 대체해주세요! 동의어가 정말 많습니다.) can learn these skills through various leisure activities that are not
considered ‘educational’. For example, eventhough playing football is not
regarded as an educational activity, children can learn teamwork team work, leadership
and sportsmanship.
Secondly, pastimes can improve children’s
health, both physically and mentally. It gives them the opportunity to enjoy outdoor
activities. Since children have the tendency of staying indoors nowadays, there
is a greater possibility of gaining overweight and becoming lethargic. These
problems can be tackled by encouraging children to stay active through various
activities. Exercising can help burn calories and boost metabolism which helps
children to stay fit.
Lastly, pastimes work as a reward for them (문단에 처음 등장하는 대상이 대명사로 쓰여서는 안 됩니다.) after accomplishing the hard work. Children study hard from a young age and get
pressurized by continuous competitions. Therefore, forcing them to study during
their spare time is too excessive. They need time to release their stress and
ease their minds. Through leisure Leisure activities, such as sports or games, will
help them feel refreshing and encourage them to concentrate on their work.
In conclusion, not all of children’s
leisure activities must be educational. Children can obtain various skills from
every activity they experience as well as mental and physical health. For
children living in an excessively competitive society, grown-ups should provide
pastimes that can encourage children to live a happier life.
