Some people say that losing a mother language is not a problematic issue because with a few languages, our life would become generally more comfortable. However, there are others who are disagree with that opinions, including me.
To begin with, it is clear that language represents national identity since it has evolved, being directly affected by history and own culture. As a result of that, each language has own way to express and a different degree of the words, even of the meaning is the same. Comparing Korean to Enligh, It is observed that the way to convey emotions is significantly different. That's why many foreigners studying Korean have a difficulty to understand the nuance of the words. Also,we would feel uncomfortable when we express words related to historical cultures in other languages. Therefore, language is irreplaceable with convenience.
Furthermore, even if there are fewer languages in the world, time for learning a certain skills would not change. This is because other requirements will emerge in order to judge people's abilities, then people should work on another thing that they are asked to survive in society. it is a well-known fact that the world where people live is extremely competitive which is a nature of the world, so it is obviously hard for people to avoid this trend throughout life no matter what it is. Thus, I disagree with the belief that living with a few language guarantees comfortable life.
In conclusion, I believe that the reason why they can chose easy life is that they underestimate the value of language, Not only that, they misunderstand what contributes their tough life. They should acknowledge how important one's language is.
