Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject. To what extent do you aggree or disagree?
By balancing control to gender and accepting candidates on all degree courses in universities, it is thoroughly unpractical.
In reality, it is true that some specific majors are more popular with one gender than the other because of the character of theory or the social perception. For example, there is a large number of female on nursing coursesand it is pretty hard to control the student's gender equally. If a university prefers to balance control the gender on all courses, it would need enough applicants of each gender. However, we cannot deny that each gender has a different typical tendency and this is a reason that it is hard to fill courses with equal number of males and females.
Apart from the practical reasons mentioned above, I also believe that there are standards of the admission requirement depends on majors because universities assess the candidate's academic qualification before approving an acceptance letter. If it is required the gender matter about entrance qualification, it would be unfair. Universities should continue to select the best students for each course and provide the qualified education for student's better life in future. It could be different academic achievement each student but, it would not be related in gender an depends on individual academic ability. If universities have a data that the female student's grade was higher than the male student previously, it would be wrong to reject men candidates in favor of women candidates with lower grades or fewer qualifications. Because there are more reasons like the total number of students, aptitute for a major and satisfaction of school life etc., to make the date expressed by gender.
In summary, universities should select the candidates based on individual ability and it does not make sense to change to an admin procedure by gender. The reason is that it is impractical and unfair for all candidates.
