Nowadays, more and more people tend to learn new languages, and this issue becomes contentious among people. Some people think that people learn another language because they are planning to travel or working in other countries. However, others believe that people learning new languages might have another reasons such as broaden knowledges and feeling a sense of achievement.

First of all, it is undeniable that many people try to know a foreign language because of the traveling and working in a foreign country. Due to the development of public transportations, people can travel anywhere and settle down in any countries, if they could communicate with native people fluently. Moreover, knowing one more languages has significant effects on someone’s life. For example, travelers can find some places that native people usually visit so they can fully enjoy the place like local people. In other words, it improves the quality of their life. In addition, working in a foreign country is a trend these days, since people can be paid more salary that they receive in their country. Thus, it is clear that, many people study foreign languages because they are likely to go to traveling and working in new country easily.

On the other hand, some people argue that people putting a lot of time and effort to study the second language is not just because of the travel or work in other countries. There are more important meanings such as increasing knowledges and self-satisfying. To be specifically, when people get a new skill like a new language, they can learn that countries’ culture easily and deeply and proud of themselves. It means, a new language acting as a bridge link much information between all of the cultures like historical events, religions, and customs. Some sentences and paragraphs are not able to translate to the same meaning but if people know that languages they can understand simply and correctly. Besides, people can feel a sense of achievement when they finish reading something or listening to something in a foreign language.  

Overall, my opinion is that people tend to study new languages not only because of the traveling or working in other countries but also it can let people feel a sense of satisfaction and broaden knowledge that is from absorbing more different languages.
