The use
of personal cars has increased more than ever before but this use of cars
causes many problems. What are those problems? In order to reduce these
problems, should we discourage people to use cars? |

It is no doubt that the car is one of the most
effective ways to move individual and items to the destinations. Nonetheless,
since some researchers say since the use of personal cars has occurred
innumerable drawbacks on the Earth, the personal cars’ usage should be
declined. Although I mostly disagree with those researchers’ viewpoint, the
problems caused by cars and its measures will be discussed in this essay. First of all, it is a well-known fact that vehicles
are the route of environmental issues, as it burns fossil fuels such as coal,
gas and gasoline which cause pollutants as well as global warming. It subsequently
melts ice burg and glacier in Arctic and Antarctic, then raise up the ocean level
and occur abnormal tidal waves. Thus, the burgeoning numbers of personal cars
are commonly believed as a cause of the proliferated environmental problems. Secondly,
humankind have encountered countless car accidents and traffic congestions
since it was invented. We watched the tragic news everyday which were caused
by car crashes and traffic jams, and it also dropped our productivities. As these
kinds of issues had not happened before the cars appeared, it clearly can be
the problems that vehicles have caused. Even though some people insist that stringent
restrictions and imposing taxes are required to offset the problems, I am against
taking strict guidelines to personal car ownership. Since I believe that automobiles
have brought biblical positive impacts to human-beings. For instance, we can deliver
lots of items such as crop yields and fresh produces expeditely between regions
in a nation. Hence, I would like to suggest one measure that the development
of public transportation such as bus, subway and taxi. It may encourage middle-class
people to save more money rather than driving the personal vehicle. The other
measure is that increasing the fuel prices and taxes slowly, for example, high-way
toll fees. It may deter lots of people to use personal cars as well as escalate
the usage of public transports which can reduce traffic congestions. In condensation, in spite of downsides of personal
cars, I am firmly convinced that the upsides of vehicles may convey to us far
outweigh negative effects and the suggested solutions above may mitigate the environmental
issues and maintain the positive impacts of automobiles. |
