In many developed countries, people tend to deem that the increasing number of old people is a big controversial issue to their society. But if they alter their attitude toward this issue, we might discover many unexpected positive aspects, which could never be found as long as we adhere to the past attitude.
Firstly, while much of the current research and policy on aging tends to focus on the potential 'burden' to society of a large older population, the likely economic stimulus created by a growing market for home help, specialized housing and financial advice has been largely overlooked. The newly created business models will create many jobs which could have never been existed, if it had not been for growing old people and the new investment to take care of rapidly growing old people will make our society more safe and happy. For instance, the government's new investment for old people always put the priority on the safety and solicitude for the physically disadvantaged person thus the people who live in society which are always take care of the weak will be happy.
Secondly, most of the old people have dedicated their whole life to a specialized field which is crucial to make our country prosperous. If we neglect the accumulated know-how, experience and knowledge made by old people, we will have to pour huge sums of time and money to build the same level these things as our old generations build. Therefore, we need to contrive how to take advantage of these value in order to thrive our country. For example, if we actively invite experienced old people to many education programs mainly in charge of teaching to young people, especially not technically matured, it is beneficial not only to old people but also our society as a whole.
In conclusion, we should see the newly created chances and make an effort to utilize these chances for our country's benefit. In addition to this, the accumulated experience, knowledge and know-how should be preserved and pass them to our next generation. By these proactive effort, we can regard the increasing number of old people, not as social burden to our society, but as a new chance to flourish our country.
