There
is a syndrome called “Blue-Bird”. Blue Bird Syndrome refers to the social
phenomenon in which people cannot adjust to changes in society or the
workplace. It is common lately in Korea. However, I think it has more
advantages than the disadvantages.
First, as people quit the job and move to
other company, they can have experience in different areas. It will teach them
the way to survive in this world. In my parent generation, they preferred only
permanent job not the temporary job. That is the way they survived at the time,
but now worlds are changed. It seems not good when people do the same job in
their entire life. Furthermore, it is hard to decide what they truly want to
do, so the easiest way to know the job people really want is just do everything
around them.
Second, many parents compel their children
to choose a stable job such as government officer. One of my friends for
example, she is a government officer because her father wanted her to be.
However, she doesn’t like it and now she is expected to quit the job soon. Even
there is a case the job parents favorite is the same with children’s. But there
are more cases not so. Children have a right to decide their own life. It is
not bad for quitting the job, it is bad not quitting the job because of afraid
to do it even they don’t like it.
In conclusion, it seems sad social
phenomenon that young people changes their jobs of careers every few years
because of some reason. However, these cases make young people to be brave and
get the power to survive this world. In addition, they finally get to know themselves
more than ever before. |
