According to a research about examinations, about 90% tests are carried out as written test. Some people believe that it is the not the right way to evaluate his or her assessment to study while others do not. I would discuss negative side of the argument in detail and my opinion.
First and foremost, there are many kind of examination method especially in the technological development society. It is very easy to access to online lectures which people want to learn. Furthermore, a lot of the fields of study have accept online test, such as PTE English test, to estimate students. It seems that it is unnecessary to stay at the old examination system without taking benefits from progressed culture in our society whilst other fields, such as medical treatment, improved by technology.
In addition, paper test does not improve practical abilities of people properly. It is true that people are able to learn and improve in their basic information. For example, people can learn mathematics, grammar, spelling and others. However, some studies are required to practical exercise such as speaking, medical service, engineering and so forth. Even though people pass the paper test about theory of speech in front of crowds, most of them, in my guess, could not perform it well if they do not have enough practical experience. I would not say it assessed his or her goal in their task.
All in conclusion, as the world has changed rapidly, the examination systems also need to be changed. Furthermore, there are a lot of studies and jobs which are required to not only their knowledge, but also the practical experiences. I would insist that formal "pen and paper" examinations could not be the indicate to achieve educational goals at least in current days. |
