Recently, school subjects have become a hotly-debated issue. Some people assert that History education is one of the most important than other subjects, while others argue otherwise. Personally, I believe that both arguments should be given equal weight. In the following essay, both views will be discussed before a conclusion is reached with my opinion. On the one hand, it seems difficult to deny that teaching history is essential as the saying goes that "A nation that forgets its past has no future". Learning the subject is very significant to people especially children. Youth people have the power to lead our country. But If they don't know about country's past, it will difficult to understand their root accurately. Furthermore, people should know and appreciate great men who played an important role in history. Therefore, there does seems to be a solid basis for several of the arguments in favour of history education. On the other hand, it seems short-sighted to argue that history education is the most important. The most off-cited argument against such a view is that people cannot live without developed technologies and science in modern times. Therefore, people need to study subject such as Science and Technology to be an influential person in society. Also, as enlargement in technology field, there are a variety of job opening and opportunities. In light of the above, I also find these persuasive. In conclusion, it is undeniable that there are a variety of opinions about this topic. However, after considering this matter in a careful manner, it can be concluded that each side of the debate has its strengths, as discussed above. |
