The pie chart represents information on the amount of
electricity produced by different sources in Germany and France in 2009.
Overall, Germany used different types of sources to generate the electricity
from France in the year 2009, focusing on conventional thermal rather nuclear
energy. In addition, these counties had also different sources for renewables. When it comes to the Germany electricity generation,
conventional thermal was the most popular source followed by nuclear and
renewable energy, accounting for 59.6%. Only 23% of nuclear and 17.4% of
renewable were used in the nation. Looking at the renewables in more detail,
biomass took up the largest part with the amount of 39.3%. Interestingly, the
figure for wind was almost equal to that for biomass, amounting to 36.9%.
Commencing with the France electricity generation, France
used the more nuclear energy more than the others combined. To be specific, the
figure for nuclear was 76%, while the figure for the second popluar energy,
renwables, registered 13.7%. In terms of renewables, 80.5% of hydoelectric was
used to produce the energy, while the figure for wind only comprised nearly
10%. |
