In recent days, there is no longer the
attitude that ‘a job is for life’. As the occupational view of modern
people has changed to balance work and life, they tend to transfer to find more appropriate ones for
them. In my essay, I will discuss the good and bad points of changing jobs.
On the one hand, there are significant
disadvantages to changing occupations, especially regarding a practical manner. People often become insecure and
unstable when preparing to move to another company. For example, they may
temporarily lose a steady source of income or have to relocate their houses.
Moreover, it would take much time and effort to get adjusted to the new working
environment, which could have been unnecessary in case they did not change
their working place.
On the other hand, people can broaden their
horizons by changing jobs once in a while. In my case, I would suffer from
mannerisms if I meet the same people and do the same tasks for several years.
Just like I do, there is the type of people who cannot endure a static and
repetitive working environment. For them, changing a job can be a breath of
fresh air which would encourage them to be more motivated. In addition, working conditions such
as a higher income and a better fringe benefit could be one of the reasons
people change the occupations. This means that the new company they are
involved in respects and values one’s skill and experience far more.
In summary, it can be said that the merits
of changing jobs counterbalance the demerits. However, I personally think that changing jobs frequently can be more satisfying, making workers productive and efficient, despite the problems it brings out. |
