is a common belief that it's essential for school to invest in sports
activities in order to promote students' participation and enhance students'
physical abilities. However, I am of the opinion that improvement of school libraries has more influential effects on students' learning
behaviors since they can provide plenty of quality information. To
begin with, libraries can provide students with plentiful resources which can
be helpful for students. Books in a library contain contents
ranging from science to literature, which means learners can use the materials
in library for obtaining any field of knowledge and
performing their assignments. From my experience, when preparing for science
R&E contest, I was able to acquire information from
the books in school's library, which was much more accurate than that from the
Internet. Moreover, there were books written from
different views which helped me develop my logic in the paper from various
points. On
top of that, libraries are equipped with not only quality books but also
computers. Via computers, students can find out information they
need quickly and cull what they don't need to search. According to a recent
study, people tend to use the Internet rather than books
for finding a book, since it results in rapid research, which confirms the
importance and convenience of computers. Though there might
be some inaccurate data, people can use these data with reports in books to
complement demerits. To
sum up, school libraries can improve students' learning environment and supply them
with quality resources so that they utilize this great
amount of information on studying, research, or assignments, etc. For these
reasons, I strongly suggest that for betterment of students'
academic achievements, school libraries be invested rather than sports
activities. |
