Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school.
Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
On these days, teaching foreign language is being operated at primary school curriculum.
There are lots of debates about this topic whether school must educate the foreign language at primary school or whether they should start teaching at secondary school. I agree with educating them in primary school.
First of all, when a person starts learning in lower ages, the efficiency of learning is quite different than learning in comparatively higher ages. The scientists had proven that a younger person can memorize more and has a higher learning speed, and as age becomes high, their ability to learn starts to decline. If teachers teach students foreign languages earlier, then overall, their ability of communicating and comprehending skills using foreign language would have much higher effects than learning later on. More younger the students learn, the faster they absorb.
Secondly, having to learn a different language requires a lot of time and effort. It is crucial for them to get accustomed to it, and without thinking, they should be able to use them without hesitating. In this point of view, it is better to learn other country’s language in primary school, which means having an earlier start. Students would get at least a double period of time if they begin to learn foreign languages in primary school than learning them in secondary school.
Hence, as age impacts a lot in learning, teachers should teach them as early as possible, and as learning a foreign language needs plenty of time, educating foreign language in primary school is a must.
