The table shows information about goverment spending by five sectors in Germany, Italy, and the UK in 2009.
Overall, it is apparent that all three nations had the large proportions of spending in the health sector. Also clear is that these countries had the least expenditure for the environmental protection.
Looking at the table more closely, one can see that Germany and Italy spent the large amount, around 6-8 percent of the total, for the public services and the health sector. However, the UK government’s spending in the public services sector was about the halved amount of that in Italy, which was only 4.6 percent. Then, the UK had the largest expenditure for the educational purpose, with spending 6.4 percent of the total amount. In contrast, the other two nations’ figures of spending in the educational sector were only 4.3 percent in Germany and 4.6 percent in the UK, respectively.
