Today’s people live with many convenient items. Surely some of disposable things are contributing to enhance general living standards of people, but it is still questionable if there are also any benefits for the environment around them. In this essay, I will discuss what makes them use the items and what will be the problem.
The biggest reason for an increase in use of disposable products is the modification of eating habits of moderners. As multitasking is considered to be an admirable quality of working professionals, their lunch breaks get shorter and irregular. Sometimes they walk down the road eating a sandwich in a hurry. They do not bring a mug or food containers because they cannot expect what they are going to eat for the day. Productivity at work improves with time sacrificed, and it feels right when they live this way.
For catering businesses, it can also make sense to provide busy people with throwaway goods. It is one of ways to meet the needs of their customers, and with this effort, they can have more regular customers and increase sales. Now they do not need to wash all the dishes and cutleries every time visitors finish to eat. They might be able to spend more time to find another way to fulfill customers’ needs.
One possible problem might be lack of capacity for processing garbages made by single used items. The garbage processing machines are not able to catch up the fast speed of hazardous and worldwide waste production. As the demands of these tools are rising, it becomes more expensive than ever before. Every countries want to have it but cannot have and maintain them. As a result, there will be more trashes that is remained not processed and threat the world.
In conclusion, people with a busy life more tend to prefer disposable items because it is easy to use without thinking when they work. Local restaurants also supply those items for them, so more parts of the world might be needed to provide a space for this demands and supply. |
