They can’t afford to provide their child with enough fresh vegetables, so their child has to eat fast foods such as hamburgers or pizzas for their meals. It causes obesity because they have fewer nutritional values and more sugar and fat. Many experts have worried about this phenomenon that obesity becomes representative of the poor. To sum up, obesity among children can occur due to eating habits and those are related to the house income that their parents earn. To solve the fundamental problem behind the phenomenon, the government should actively involve to this social problem. Since social issues are hard to be resolved by individual efforts, interventions at a higher level are inevitable. For example, the government can help low-income households by giving subsidies to supply their children’s diet. In addition, the government can carry on a campaign to decrease childhood obesity.
