It is a common belief that governments have
to fund for roads rather than railways. However, I firmly believe that it is
more beneficial for governments to invest for railways.
To begin with, improving and extending railways
will be very helpful to protect environmental. Over the time, the environmental
concerns are becoming more severe. Moreover, the main cause of these problems
is emitted gas from the automobiles. Improving public transportations such as
subways and trains would have positive effects on the pollution problems. That’s
because it can encourage more people to utilize public transportations such
like subways. For example, a state of the USA invested significant amount of
money to railways for improving the public transportation system. As a result,
the more public are using subways and trains as their main means for commuting.
It led to lower emissions of gases that have adverse impacts on environments.
On top of that, spending more money on
railways is one of the best ways to ensure mobile rights for more people especially
in the countrysides. Numerous people who are living in the regions experience some
difficulties to go to near cities without their own cars. Thus, their rights
for moving freely are limited. Expanding railways will contribute to ensure the
fair mobile rights. A recent published study revealed the number of people who
are living in countrysides and working in the middle of the cities is dramatically
increasing after extending railways from the rural areas to the cities.
In conclusion, investing to railways will
be very beneficial for public good. Because it will be helpful to protect environment
and ensure people’s fair mobile chances. For these reasons, governments should fund
for railways rather than roads.
