Your Answer ▼ Since online technology has been advanced, some people argue that
museums are not needed anymore. However, it still has the most reliable
resource of history and provides precious time to our lovers. Therefore, I
strongly disagree with the opinion that insists useless of museums due to
internet development.
First of all, we can get the most accurate information about
history in the museum. It’s a well-known fact that the internet has the fastest
access to data. But, it also has a critical disadvantage that everyone can edit
or delete the information. It means its sources are not reliable. For example,
when I looked through the website called, Wikipedia, I found that edit history
that said it was modified by hundreds of anonymous. On the other side, the
museum preserves bequests from the ancient period and printed descriptions that
have been proved by professional archeologists. It tells us that museums have
more creditable collections compared to information from online platforms.
Also, we can spend time with close people while having a
sophisticated conversation about arts, and history. Since people have got
knowledge very quickly due to technology development, they tend to solve every
curiosity online. It has caused many social issues such as isolation or low
literacy level. But the museum is located in the real world, which means people
have to get out of their house and interact with others. Also, it displays
pieces that required deep thinking skills and various ways of translation,
which lead to discussion among family or friends.
In conclusion, to prevent the spread of rumors and wrong
concepts, and spend more time with family and friends in society, we still need
to have a museum and fix problems caused by the development of technology. |
