Dwellings are important to every species on the planet, including insects, animals and human beings. It is therefore worth pondering upon why many people are eager to own a home and what kind of impacts this enthusiasm might bring to us. If a person is renting a home, there are always great possibilities that a landlord raises the rental fee, or simply asks the person to move out. Therefore, the resident would not feel secure about his livelihood. Habitat is one of the basic human needs to be fulfilled. As long as their basic needs are not met, it could cause some problems to societies such as decreasing the number of marriages, low birth rates, all of which could lead to lethal damage to the economy. The idea of having to own a house could bring about some negative results to societies. As a matter of fact, the ownership of a house has been considered a serious problem in South Korea. 2020 was the turning point for the country since it was the first year that the population started to decrease. To tackle this issue, the Ministry of Health and Welfare carried out a survey in attempt to find out the reason of declining population. Majority of people answered that the main culprit that made people stop marrying and bearing a child is because they did not own a house. Surprisingly the ownership of a home has a significant impact on the sense of security of life to Koreans. To sum up, it is a somewhat natural instinct to humans to deem dwellings crucial, because house is the place where a family flourishes. However, people have to factor in that being tied upon the necessity of home could cause some social issues. Nevertheless, if the governments could suggest brilliant long-term initiatives like constructing public houses and providing them to the people who are in need, they can mitigate the negative results. |
