There are many diverse opinions about
utilizing animals as a subject for experimentation. Some agree with this
because it prevents people from exposing to harmful chemicals, while others argue
that this phenomenon has to be banned because it might kill innocent animals
used for experimentation.
On the one hand, animal testing has played
a role in proving whether a product is harmful to people or not. It filters
products that have detrimental effects on human by using animals beforehand. In
addition, when companies and experts test a drug that is planning to be
released on the market, animals are used to see if the drug works and is
effective. For example, vaccines have become people’s lives much safer, but
experts and scientists could not have been able to make the achievement of
vaccines without animals since animals were tested to observe the consequences
of vaccines. It is clear that people benefit from animal experimentation.
On the other hand, some people criticize
that animals are used for scientific research. They assert that animals are
excessively sacrificed for humans. For instance, animals are forced to extract
blood and inject drugs that are not recognized their mechanism. During this
process, numerous animals become disabled or even die. Furthermore, companies
that implement animal testing have to purchase other animals to replace death
animals due to experiment. They also need expenses to deal with the carcass.
Therefore, it shows that animal experimentation is not economical and has
downsides.
All things considered, it is undeniable
that people can live better life thanks to the improvement of drugs that animal
testing is utilized. However, it seems hard to escape from the criticism that
it brings not only ethical but also financial issues. |
