The first bar graph shows the number of
UK tourists to the US and the number of US tourists to the UK, and the second
graph indicates the amount spent by those visitors between 2011 and 2015. As clearly seen from the first graph, the number of British visitors to the US was consistently higher than the
number of American visitors to the UK. Similarly, in the second graph, the
figures of UK tourists were higher than figures of US tourists throughout the
period.
It is clearly seen from the first graph, the number of UK tourists decreased from 2011 to 2013, hitting a low
of just under three million. However, this increased
over the following 2 years, peaking at 3.5 million in 2015. The number
of US tourists to the UK remained at 2.8 million from 2011 to 2012 but fell in
2013. However, after that time, this reached the highest point of
3.2 million in 2015.
In the second graph, it is easily observed
that the amount spent by UK tourists in the US remained
stable at around four from 2011 to 2013. Interestingly, this drastically
increased over the following 2 years, peaking at 5.8 billion in 2015. US
tourists' spending was relatively consistent until
it surged in 2014 and 2015, reaching a pinnacle of 4 billion dollars. |
