These
days, environmental problem is something that the world should pay more attention
to. Especially, ‘plastic’ is one of the materials causing a lot of damage to Earth
since it takes centuries to decompose. One solution to reduce plastic wastes is
to recycle. The diagram below shows the process for recycling plastic bottles
and I would like to describe them in details.
First
step is people cleaning their used plastic bottles and throwing them away
properly in the recycling box. Then, garbage truck will come and gather the
plastic bottles to sort them in recycling center. If the plastic bottle is
considered appropriate to get recycled, it will continue with the next step.
However, if it is considered inappropriate, it will be thrown away somewhere
else.
Following
four steps take place in a factory. When sorted, plastic bottles get compressed
into blocks. After that, they get crushed into pieces, then get washed. Washed
plastic pieces get inserted into a specific machine to produce plastic pellets,
which will be heated to form raw material, which can be made into new plastic
products. For instance, water bottle, pencil, shirt, bag, and more. This is the
end of the recycling steps and this cycle will be continued until plastic
bottles are considered inappropriate to get recycled.
To
sum up, recycling plastic materials are complicated. It takes time and energy.
Therefore, people should reconsider when they are buying and using plastic
products and be sure to recycle them. |
