This leads some people to think that English will be a solely language to be spoken afterwards. Speaking in one language has various merits whereas dangers as well. One evident advantage to speaking only in English is that it would decline the communication barriers. This change makes it easier when we communicate with people even though they have different nationalities. With a growing need to work together with people from all around the world to make our firm prosper internationally, communicating is one of the most important elements. This also helps us to have conversations more deeply and detailed. In addition, we don't have to translate our own language to English to understand each other. In other words, we don't have to waste our time in translation. On the other hand, there are disadvantages to using only English. Firstly, various cultural elements, such as histories, would be in danger to be disappeared. In each language, there are cultural recordings which are valuable enough to be protected. Speaking in English exclusively would lead the extinct of these cultural elements as well as the other languages. Secondly, people who work in the field which is related to language ,such as translator, would be in a pitfall to lost their jobs. For instance, if English is only used globally, there would be no demand to hire a person for translating. In conclusion, while there are plus points to speaking in one language, English, too much be lost as a result. |
