There has been controversy about whether people should take risks both in their professional lives and their personal lives. Despite the fact that taking risks sometimes may hurt people, I think it is important for people to take risks, both in the professional lives and their personal lives for two reasons. First, taking risks can be beneficial for people. Experiencing new things and challenging myself can lead to new knowledge about certain things. The knowledge can be a good opportunity in living our own lives. A person who being fearful and doing nothing don’t get any opportunity to learn and improve his own abilities. For example, my aunt who is 40 years old decided to quit her work and be a graphic designer because she loves drawing and watching animation. In order to be a designer, she studied hard in order to enroll in Art college. Family members are shocked about her decision because they thought it was too late for her to go to a college. However, after one year, she really worked hard and succeeded to be majored in art. Her effort is still going on to achieve her goal. Second, by taking risks, people can learn how to be relaxed. Our world is very wide and a lot of accidents occur every day. People should learn how to deal with problems. By taking risks, they can become tolerant in facing risks. Being tolerant is a vital response in solving problems. Being fearful and doubting cannot make people be mature. For these two reasons, I believe that it is important for people to take risks both in the professional lives and their personal lives. |
