Graduate student research assistant positions are available in Dr. Gong’s lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME, http://www.engr.wisc.edu/bme/), Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery (WID, http://www.discovery.wisc.edu/) and Materials Science Program (MSP, http://www.engr.wisc.edu/interd/msp/) (http://www.engr.wisc.edu/bme/faculty/gong_shaoqin.html). Applicants should have a B.A. or M.S. degree in the field of polymer chemistry or other closely related fields. Applicants with a strong background in designing, synthesizing and characterizing novel polymers for biomedical applications (e.g., multifunctional drug delivery nanoparticles, tissue engineering scaffolds, and biosensors) are especially encouraged to apply. Graduate students with a strong background in polymer chemistry, nanomaterials and functional polymer nanocomposites (e.g., sensors, actuators, solar cells), and biomaterials are also encouraged to apply either the BME or MSP program at UW-Madison. Graduate student applicants should have satisfactory TOEFL (international students) and GRE scores. Positions are available starting August, 2010.
