I received a letter from IRS the other day.
"We did not receive the supporting identification documentation you are required to submit with your application verifying the information on your form w-7. blablabla
Please note that a passport is the only document that will prove both identify and foreign status. All other documentation will require a combination of acceptable supporting identification documents to prove identify and foreign status.
You can submit an original or a copy of an original document but the copy must be certified by the issuing agency or notarized by a united states notary public. Foreign notaries are acceptable if they attach an Apostille to the notarized docuemnt as outlined by the Hague convention. blablabla"
I am on my OPT and H1B application has been filed.
In this condition, my question is
Is is going to be the same process when I am on H1-B next year?
It is because my passport will be no more valid from next March someday.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks for your time and pardon my english.
