It is debatable whether cars have made a greater impact on society than airplanes. This is an intriguing question because opinions concerning this can be different relying on individual perspectives. In my opinion, however, I agree with the statement for the following subsequent two reasons. To begin with, people use cars more than airplanes in their daily lives. These days, every family has more than one car because of economic development and technological advance. Cars are essential for people all over the globe because it is used in every process of human’s activity. On the contrary, there are a lot of people who never have been taken the airplane in their entire lives. Even though there is a little increase caused by tourists’ demands, the airplane is not used in our daily lives frequently. Accordingly, the impact on society of cars must be larger than the airplane. If cars do not exist in present, most of the human works would be stopped. For example, I am a university student and I commute by using my car because it is very comfortable than commuting by walks. Last semester, the road located between my house and my university was closed because of the renovation for two weeks. I had no choice but to go to school by walks. As a result, I was late in class and I had a hard time. On the other hand, a few weeks ago, the airport in my city was closed due to heavy rain. However, it did not affect many people including me at all. On top of that, cars affect the environment more than airplanes. As technology develops, millions of cars are created annually. Therefore, the pollutant triggered by cars is immeasurable, it contributes to many environmental problems such as global warming and air pollution. However, the airplanes do not get attention regarding environmental issues because of their low numbers. For instance, a few months ago, I came to watch the National Geographic program on television. The program told me that human activity caused to damage the Earth severely, and the most responsible factor of these environmental issues was the harmful chemicals from the cars. This contributed to the fact that the temperature of the Earth decreased 0.74 degrees Celsius over the past one hundred years.
In a nutshell, the number of cars used in everyday lives is much more than that of airplanes. Moreover, cars have a more negative impact on the environment than airplanes. In this regard, I strongly believe that cars have affected society more than airplanes. |
