Undoubtedly, most universities have a limited budget, so it is debatable whether they should spend the same amount of money on athletic activities as they spend on university libraries. In general, the consensus view seems to be that the investment in their libraries is more beneficial to their students than other facilities. In my opinion, however, I firmly believe that universities ought to support physical and athletic activities for the following two subsequent reasons.
First and foremost, it is more effective to offer their students the opportunities to participate in physical education or activities because it helps them to find their potential ability, and allows them to do creative activities effectively. In contrast, many libraries are enough to give them the studying environment already, which means that universities do not have to spend their money on maintaining and managing their libraries. For example, when I was a university student, our school encouraged us to take an athletic class free every semester. Also, they tried to clean their gym by hiring a lot of clean officials to help them focus on their exercise. They did not have to manage their library because when our school’s library was built, many students did not require any improvement, and their library was excellent already. Even the old library gave us a serious mood to be helpful in focusing on their study.
In addition, when students are distressed by academic subjects, regular physical activities and exercises help them to release their stress. While some academic stress is normal, excessive pressure can interfere with their study, impact emotional health, and affect even their home life. In this regard, sponsoring their libraries can add just immense burden into their school life. On the other hand, physical activities will allow them to refresh their brain and body. For instance, there is a poll conducted by the Johns Hopkins University with 500 their students majoring in the economic philosophy. The majority of them argued that by working out regularly or taking a physical class, their brain can be vitalized. Furthermore, when they are overwhelmed by academic pressure, their library always can give them a negative impression. However, students who spend their time working out in their gym enjoy their campus life with healthy emotion and body as well as their brain ready to study.
In conclusion, taking effectivity of physical activities and excessive pressure into consideration, I strongly believe that university should spend their more money on developing their library. Never should we forget that this issue may have a huge impact on our future.
