▶ Your Answer :
Undoubtedly, following values play a significant role in people’s daily lives in many of the places where the work or play. Some people think being honest or being well organized is the most important values to share with a young child, while others do not. If I were asked to choose one, I would say being helpful to others is the most important trait for a young child. There are several reasons as follows.
To begin with, being helpful to others allow young children to improve their sense of responsibility. Being cooperative with others requires many obligations such as managing time, abiding by rules, and respect others. When such obligations are fulfilled, they are likely to realize the importance of being responsible. For example, my youngest brother used to be lazy and selfish. However, he has changed gradually after he started to participate in volunteer work and helped homeless people. He realized that his punctuality could help him understand others more easily while his laziness could negatively affect everyone. Naturally, he became more prompt with time, played his part better, and even encouraged others to be more responsible. Without this experience, he would still have been irresponsible.
In addition, when children are helpful to others, it can contribute to an increase in their overall happiness. Assisting others gives them a chance to experience something different from what they would do in their usual routine. A new experience tends to prevent them from feeling bored in life. For instance, when my sister was in school, she often felt depressed thinking that her life became an exhausting routine. To survive in a competitive world, she spent the whole day studying all academic subjects, hoping that she could outdo others. Fortunately, she was able to deal with such pressure and stress by helping household chores. She could relieve stress and recharge her batteries thorough assisting her mother’s cooking and cleaning. By doing this, she was able to let off some steam. If she had not helped household chores, she would not have been able to escape her boring life.
All things considered, I strongly believe that being helpful to others is the most important value to share with a young child. All in all, the importance of being cooperative with others cannot be overestimated in life. |
