In very competitive societies, it is obvious that successful people work hard, so it is highly debatable whether their success is entirely due to their hard work. In general, the consensus view seems to be that luck has nothing to do with their success. In my opinion, however, I firmly believe that luck is around them at all times, and successful people caught the chance for the following two subsequent reasons.
First and foremost, since the chance to actualize our dream is always around us, it is closely relevant to our success. To be specific, successful people have the ability to adapt to the unexpected situation which necessitates the quick brain movement. In fact, the buildup of knowledge does not allow us to take appropriate action to the situation. As today’s world is increasingly becoming developed and specialized, many CEOs and Bosses require people who do not only have the high intellectual knowledge, but also deft creativities, which are not prepared by hard work. For example, three years ago, I was preparing my job interview, and totally finished my resume and all-A GPA. However, the person hired by the company was not me but another person. He had relatively low GPA grades, but he replied as a precise answer from the boss’s question. I was not questioned by the question that I prepared. This experience demonstrates that hard work is just hard work for a successful person.
In addition, the hard effort may be part of success, but succeed is affected by luck. Specifically, if there are two people who have the top accomplishment, luck will work. Human beings has always suffered from dealing with such a situation. For instance, when I was a high school student, I had a friend, Alex. Both he and I were straight-A students, and we prepared our final exam in a semester. When I solve the math quiz, my brain stopped because there was one question that I could not remember. As a result, I was defeated by Alex, he was able to graduate as a top student in our high school successfully. Actually, because of the single question, I recognized that it was just luck, not preparation.
In conclusion, taking great creativities and the influence of luck into consideration, I strongly believe that successful people have their own luck, and they caught it. Never should we forget that this issue may have a huge impact on our lives.
