▶ Your Answer : Some people think that it is more beneficial to study alone than in a group. However, in my opinion, it is better to study in a group with their friends or other people. There are few reasons. This is mainly due to the relieving one`s stress and broadening of one`s knowledge.
First of all, people do not need to be stressful caused by their questions. They can solve their problems by having discussion with group members in a short period of time. If yo waste time for solving the problems consistently, you will get stressed and be discouraged from learning. When I was in high school, I did pursue to study alone because I thought that it was time-wasting for joining a study group. However, I could not always exceed students who studied with their colleagues both the score of mid-term exam and final exam. So I felt stressed about my score. Eventually, my score was gradually declined because I did not focus on studying due to my stress. After then, I decided to join a study group. I did not to consume the time for solving any problems by having discussion with group members and get back on track.
Second, students can broaden their knowledge by studying together. There are different people of diverse background in a study group. So people can talk about many things with them. Nowadays, it is required for people to have a wide variety of knowledge rather than deep knowledge of one specific field. A person with a great amount knowledge is regarded as 'a person of intelligence' in this world. A survey conducted by Seoul National University is a good example in this situation. There were two groups. The former group was composed of students having expertise in a specific field. Another group was students having abundant experiences and knowledge although they did not have good grade in their major subjects. The latter group members could more easily find a job in big companies than former groups. The reason was that the students of latter group could proficiently explain the questions of interviews based on their abundant experiences and learning.
To sum up with, if people join a study group, they will be less stressful and be knowledgeable. In this regard, I hold that it is better to study in a group than alone. |
