▶ Your Answer :Some people think that peoples should try different jobs before
deciding a career. However, in my opinion, trying different jobs is not
necessary for deciding a career. There are two reasons: First, if you waste
time to try different jobs, it is difficult to compete with others in your
career. Second, experiences in different jobs are useless in your final career.
First of all, if you waste time to try different jobs, it is
difficult to compete with others in your career. One might think that trying
different jobs will be helpful concerning deciding which career is suitable for
one’s aptitude and interest. However, would it be possible that one who wastes
time to trying different jobs can compete with and exceed others who decided
their career early and dedicated their life to their career? The answer might
be no. The others will have higher job positions and salary compared to the one
because they spent more time and effort in the one career. The survey from
Seoul Employment Center can be a good example of this case. The center
conducted survey to identify the importance of trying different jobs before
deciding one’s career. However, overwhelming 80% of respondents claimed that
they regret to try various jobs or they satisfy to decide their career early.
They reported that deciding career early and devoted their lives into their
career early is outweigh the advantages of trying different jobs. Therefore, it
will be waste of time for trying different jobs before deciding their career.
On the top of that, most experiences from different jobs before
deciding a career are useless. One might think that the diverse experience and
human relationship are helpful in pursuing one’s final career. However, in
fact, the experience and human relationship for a success in a job is different
job by job. The My sister’s episode can be a good example of this claim. My
sister majored in business and graduated from one of top university in Korea.
Before she gets a full-time job, she went through a number of jobs as an intern
position. She worked at from department store to car manufacturer. Her
fundamental reason of trying different jobs is the experience and human
relationship will helpful in her future career. However, while trying different
jobs, she realized that the experience needed is differ career by career. The
experience and achievement from previous company are not helpful in her next
company. She has worked in Bank these days as her final career and she thinks
it will be better to be a banker early.
To sum up, taking competition in a career and useless experience
from different jobs, there is no reason to try different jobs before deciding a
career. |
