▶ Your Answer : Various opinions may exist over the argument that teachers should focus only on students' academic performances. With respect to this topic, many people are liable to think that academic instruction is more important for students to study. However, from another point of view, giving advice about real world could be more likely to have several advantages in many ways. I also have the same idea in the matter for the subsequent reasons. To begin with, there are the bulk of situations that are not predicted and not learned in a school. Moreover, students generally have less experience to handle with these uninviting tasks. Therefore, they need to attain the wisdom to deal with real-world problems, and the role to teach it to them should be given to teachers. To explain this, I will illustrate my experience as an example. When I was a college student, I run into a car accident. The victim was on the road, and many people in there did not know how to do that situation. At that time, I came up with the things I learned in my high school, so I called an ambulance immediately asking people to help me to check the condition of the patient. As I acted swiftly, the patient would get better condition after going to hospital in proximity. Had it not been for the education I learned, the accident would have been worse. On top of that, when it comes to the period students have lived, there are small chances to learn extracurricular knowledge since they spend a lot of time in school and home. Also, since they are into their academic subject enthusiastically, it is inevitably to emphasize more on getting broad information. As an instance, there was a poll conducted by the Ministry of Education with 500 parents as respondents. The purpose of this survey was to ascertain the part the parents think that their children were short of. An overwhelming 80 percent of the parents had responded that their children were lack of experience that cannot be learned in schools and their home. This shows that the shortage of the capacities to cope with real-world problems was a widespread thinking among the parents. In other word, students are not exposure to the surroundings they can learn that knowledge. In a nutshell, it hardly comes to the convincing conclusion everyone agrees with, Nevertheless, taking the two reasons described above into consideration, it is clear-cut that teaching only academic subjects should be harmful for students to make a living in the future.
