▶ Your Answer :
It is difficult to fathom what others
think, but my opinion in regard to this topic is adamant. I firmly believe that
speaking well is more important than writing well for the following reasons.
First of all, speaking well is more
beneficial because it shows outstanding effectiveness in improving social
skills. Unlike the past, the modern society requires people who surpass both in
sociability and specialty. To be specific, interpersonal relationships and
social skills are necessary qualifications for a successful person. Since
speaking is more frequently used than writing in daily lives to communicate
with others, people can reap benefits in socializing through fluent speaking
skills. According to a research conducted by a renowned professor named James
Armstrong from University of Southern California, people who possess excellent
speaking ability attain the goal of having successful relationships in a much
more effectual way whereas having the same accomplishment is somewhat difficult
for people who lack such ability. Thus, speaking well is more important than
writing well.
On top of that, people should speak well in
order to acquire an outcompeting advantage over other candidates in the job
market. Nowadays, people face fierce competition in a job market because there
are too many candidates with not so many jobs available. Consequently, it has
become extremely difficult to find suitable and rewarding jobs. Thus, in order
to become desirable job applicants, people should become competent by having
prominent aptitude, including speaking skills. According to a private survey
conducted by Seoul National University of Korea, an anonymous surveyed
respondent answered that he was greatly helped by his speaking ability to get a
job he desired. He also indicated that if it had not been for his fluency, he
would have not stood out over other candidates. This evidence proves that my
assertion is convincing.
To sum up, I believe my explanations above
sufficiently prove the importance of speaking well. Obviously, the significance
of speaking cannot be overemphasized enough.
