As the colors of the nature are diverse, people have various opinions to
the given topic. Some people might think that it is essential to have a friend
who shares different interests or tastes. I, however, strongly insists that it
is better to have a friend who is similar to someone based on the following two
reasons.
To begin with, similar friends have less conflicts. Friends who are
similar are easy to understand each other in that they have been growing up in
same environments. Thus, they do not argue each other when making a consensus.
For instance, Jane, my best friend and I, have a similar died habit since our
parent lived in the northern part of South Korea. We love spacy food while the
southern people dislike it. By dint of this similarity, we do not have any
trouble when we choose a restaurant. Furthermore, our relationship increases my
sense of happiness given the fact that I enjoy my favorite food with my
favorite friend.
On top of that, similar friend can generate opportunities to improve
someone’s talent. If someone have a similar interest with his or her friend, it
is good to develop the interest further, thus being more skillful. They not
only can exchange a lot of information about the related interest but also can
be a positive competitor to each other. For example, Jung A Lee, a famous
ballerina in British Royal Ballet School, confessed her experience how he could
be a successful ballerina. She said “as I hanged out with her ballerina friends
more often, her competence of ballet improved.” That is, her ballerina friends
became not only an impetus for practicing ballet intensively but also an
informative route to acquire good information related with ballet.
To sum up, people can have less conflicts and more talents by having a
friend who shares similarities. For this reason, I think that it is conducive
to associate with a friend who is similarity to someone.
