▶ Your Answer :
I
strongly agree with the statement that companies that destruct the environment
should be imposed heavy taxes to stop the destruction.
To
begin with, taxing is the most powerful regulation for companies to response
the matter. As most people know, the very first purpose of all companies is
making a profit. It is not even an exaggeration that companies exist only for
making a profit. In this sense, taxing could directly affect companies’
behavior and their stance to the environment. Levying heavy taxes to the
companies that destruct the environment would cut their profits because the
companies unavoidably will increase price of their products due to imposed
taxes. Consequently, they would consider this environment related matter more
serious than before. On top of that, taxing would make consumers aware of which
company destructs the environment. They will be able to discern the products of
certain company, which would have increased price due to taxing. Therefore,
they will likely to avoid buying and using the products from the certain
companies.
In
the second place, taxing would be a great approach to protect the environment.
If government’s earnings from taxing increase, then the government can spend
the additional increase into governmental program that protects the
environment. For example, my state imposes high taxes to the manufacturing company
whose factory emits a large amount of toxic gases thereby spending the taxes to
support the environmental-friendly factory. In addition, higher taxes can force
companies realize their responsibility to the environment. Due to government’s
strict regulations on this matter, mainly by means of taxing, companies are
inclined to put more efforts into protect the environment. We can find a lot of
companies that conduct the green campaign.
In
sum, taxing on the companies that destruct the environment is one of the most
effective ways to stop the vicious relationship that is injurious to the
environment. |
