Movies tell more about a country than a person describing that country. The story in movie shows how people think, react, speak, what they do during their free time, what they eat, and the places in that country.
Today, it is well-known that all the languages have different forms in grammar and the way they express. While people in a country say, “it’s annoying,” directly, others in another country express the same feeling with the words that are not telling the person’s purpose clearly such as saying, “it’s good to hear you sing out loud, and I think I have to move my place.” Likewise, the action people take in each country is also all different. In the movie, the actors habit as a citizen in his country are usually presented in the way they think, speak and act.
Not only the physical characteristics like speaking and acting are in the movie. The movies usually have props that are trend in that country in a certain period of time. The fashion they wear, the form of accessories, or even objects that are popular today could easily be on the movie to get audience's’ empathy towards the story and the characters in the movie. For example, in Korea, portable pens are popular in summer because the sun is scorching. In winter, they carry hotpack to warm themselves. Using those kind of things for the movie makes it more funnier and realistic.
As a result, movie reveals a lot of things about a country. The way people express their feeling in speaking or acting could be totally different in other countries. It could be direct or polite. The politeness could even make people uncomfortable in some countries. Movies usually use popular props to make a bond between the audience and itself. However, they could be the things that are well-known in other countries. Therefore, without the audience’ notice, the movie tell many things about a country.
