Undoubtedly, rules play a significant role
in people’s daily lives in many places where they work or play. Some people think
that strict rules for their children need to succeed in life, while others do
not. Both sides may have reasons to support their views. On the other hand, if I
had to choose one, I would say that parents should not regulate their children
for success in life. There are several reasons as follows.
To begin with, children who are not
regulated by their parents can improve a sense of responsibility. If the
children make a plan their own hands, they can learn how to manage their time,
abide by rules, and use their money. When such abilities are fulfilled, it is
likely to bring a good result in their life. For instance, when my younger
brother was in a high school, he was depressed by restricting his behaviors
from his parents. When his parents decided to give him a chance to plan his
routine on his own, he was excited and was able to get out exhausting routine.
Also, he realized that making plans his own hands required many obligations
such as punctuality, a sense of responsibility on their tasks, and effective
use of budget. This implies that free rules for children can important for them
to succeed in life. Without this freedom, he would fall behind.
On top of that, I firmly believe that
children who don’t have strict rules can cultivate important qualifications
needed for great success. If parents don’t set strict rules for their children,
children express their own ideas without hesitation and study more effectively.
This trend is likely to improve in academic performance. For example, Stanford
University found a huge difference between two groups of young students in
terms of SAT scores. One group was composed of those who were not regulated their
parents strictly, and the other group consisted of those who had a rigid rules.
The researcher found that the former was outperformed the latter by 20 percent.
The first group was likely to have more sense of achievement on their tasks and
actively participate in activity. On the other hand, the second group had a
passive attitude and exhausted on their tasks. This indicates that freedom in
their life encourages children to accomplish their tasks actively.
All
things considered, I believe that having a freedom to children is better than restricting
their children. The children can cultivate important qualifications and improve
their sense of responsibility needed for success in life without strict rules.
All in all, these things will continue to consider encouraging their children’s
abilities |
