Introduction
Some people argue
that all college students should take basic economics classes. There are
obviously many opinions regarding this topic, but it is unnecessary that taking economics courses as the required
classes. The concept of health and a job illustrate this theme.
2.
Body
First of all,
taking a required economics class can worsen the health of students. This is
mainly because college students are always busy and occupied with their own
majors to prepare for their future
job. If students are compelled
students to take economics class
which are not interested in economics, students will be stressed out due to the
mandatory class. In fact, stress is one of the primary factors of illnesses
because it weakens the immune system. Thus, they are more likely to be mentally
and physically weak. For example, my uncle, a doctor at a general hospital in a
city, told me that sometimes college
students came to him for
stress-related ailments and disorders. He has found a relationship between
stress and human diseases such as headaches, high blood pressure, and insomnia.
Additionally, focusing on their own majors will be
helpful for success in career. When students pay attention to their own majors,
they can be increasingly specialized
and competitive. Today’s job markets require job candidates with such
qualities. My father, the boss of a company in Korea, often tells me that the
job interview is the most important component in employing people. My father
and other interviewers consider the
applicants’ passion and specialized skills. This means that focusing on their own majors is a sure(definite) way for students to prepare
for the future.
3.
Conclusion
In conclusion,
although taking economics class is beneficial for undergraduates, its
disadvantages overwhelm its advantages. The reason is that focusing on one’s
major helps students to stay healthy
and leads to success in one’s future job.
