Some people think that a strict
teacher is more efficient than a humorous teacher. However, in my opinion, it
is better to have a teacher who is easygoing for two reasons. First of all, he
can make students be interested in the subjects. In addition, students can
consult about their concerns or careers readily.
To begin
with, benevolent teachers help students have interests in their subjects. This
is because they can relieve students in their classes with humors. As a
result, students will take lectures comfortably
and be interested in the subjects. Furthermore, they can enhance their academic
performances because they participate in classes more actively when they have
interests in them. For example, according to the survey conducted by Korean
Education Department, about 80 percent of Korean students reported that they
could improve their scholastic accomplishment when they had humorous teachers.
They also mentioned that the reason for these improvements is that the teachers
helped them have interests and pay attention to the classes.
On top
of that, easygoing teachers make students talk about their concerns. Students
easily open their hearts to humorous teachers because they often encourage
students and have many talks with them. Consequently, students like to share
their problems with benevolent teachers. For instance, when I was in high
school, I went through a tough time because I had many concerns about the
university entrance and did not decide on my
career. Fortunately, Mr. Kim who taught Korean was willing to consult my career
and made a strong attempt to listen my concerns. With his helps, I could solve
problems and entered to the a university.
If I had not consulted with him, I would not have chosen my career.
To sum up, benevolent teachers can make their students take interests in the
subjects and share concerns with them. In this regard, I believe that easygoing
teachers are better than serious teachers.
