▶ Your Answer : As it is getting harder to succeed all by oneself, some people say that it is better to select a same job with parents. However, in my opinion, having career which is different from parents is better for young people since they can get freedom about what they want to do and can self improve them better than following parents' job.
To begin with, young people can be freed from boundary of their parents and be more happy as they can do what they want. Having same job that parents do makes parents intervene more in young people's life. According to a research that was conducted by Seoul National University, young workers who didn't select a same job in the same field as their parents showed more satisfiction than those who followed their parents' job. Those who followed said that because they can't do what they really want and reluctantly follow their parents' instructions, they are usually stressed out. This shows if young people do what they want to do apart from their parents, they can do their jobs more gladly with less stress.
On top of that, young people can improve themselves when they choose a different career form their parents. Whereas those who goes paved way that their parents made, others who go their own way faces failures and success directly and can learn from those experiences. For example, my father got a job as an importer, unlike my uncle did merchant same as grandparents. Even though, my father experienced lots of failures, from them he learned and advanced himself by getting lessons and acknowledging himself. Thus, father's company became much bigger and strong than uncle's.
In conclusion, young people who pursue different job that their parents did can get freedom and more experiences that can give them useful lessons. In this regard, I argue that it is more beneficial for young workers to choose different career for themselves. |
