▶ Your Answer : There are many historic buildings all around the world such as Gyeongbokgung Palace and Colosseum. These days, since there aren't any enough places for other buildings, some people think that the government should allow old historic buildings to be destroyed and replaced with modern ones. However, in my opinion, the government should never permit to demolish historical buildings. First of all, old historic buildings have historical value. Destroying old historic buildings means eliminating its historical value. For example, there is an old historic building called Hyeonchung Tower which is a building that pays a high tribute to the hero who fought hard during the Korean War. If the government decides to demolish that tower, it also means that they do not respect any of them who fought hard during the Korean war and many people will disagree about destroying the tower. Like this, the government must not destroy historical building because of its value. Secondly, old historical buildings attract many tourists to city. Many tourists travel to other country to go sightseeing historical buildings or landmarks. Then, many countries earn a lot of money from these tourism. This can develop state economy. For example, Italy has many historical buildings such as Colosseum and many people travel to Italy to see those landmarks. Then, they can earn a lot of money from tourism and the 10 percent of Italy's GDP is from tourism. This way, old historic buildings attract many tourists and countries can earn money from it. To conclude, old historical buildings have historical value and attract many tourists to the city. This has a lot of benefits such as helping state economy. For these reasons, I strongly believe that the government should not allow old historic buildings to be destroyed and replaced with modern ones. |
