Some people argue that printed books have been more influential on society than television has because humans have long used paper books to record history. However, I believe that televisions have been more influential since its invention, due to several advantages that printed books do not have. First, televisions are more effective as it reduced the time and money required to get information. Also, televisions have allowed more people to have access to a variety of information.
First, televisions have been more influential than paper books as it reduce the time and money that people have to spend to get information. In the past, when there were only paper books, people had to spend tremendous amount of time to find a piece of information that they needed. They had to buy a book, and then read through them in order to find the information that they require. This process not only slowed people down from accumulating knowledge, but people also had to spend more money to buy all the books and to keep them in a specific place. In this regard, television, which facilitates our lives by providing needed information rapidly is much useful compared to printed books.
Second, televisions have contributed to distribute information to a wide range of people in a society. What I mean by this is that in the past, when there were only paper books, it was nearly impossible to inform people about an incident as it took a long time to rewcopy books for each person. Thus, communication between one another was much slower. Nevertheless, as televisions and computers are equiped in many regions or even at each house, it has become much easier to inform a variety of things to the throng. Now that many people have access to television, interaction among people in society has become much easier.
Lastly, I believe televisions have changed our lives much more than printed books have, due to the advantages that televisions have. |
