▶ Your Answer :
Opinions might be divided over whether speaking well is more important than
writing well. People of diverse ages and from different walks of life may take
diverse positions on this controversial issue. Personally, I think that
speaking well is more important than writing well, and I have two reasons for
that. First, speaking well is a critical ability in daily life. Second, people
who speak well can achieve their writing skills easily.

To begin with, as we grow, we will have more chance to speak than write
when we express our thinking, because voice is more effective way to convey
one’s opinion than words. Opponents of my perspective claim that writing well
is more important than speaking well, because there are many things to write in
a day, such as reports and letters. Advocates’ claim may sound reasonable on
the surface. However, if we take a closer look at their contentions, the
rationale for their assertion lacks logic in many ways. (찬성/반대론자의 입장이 아닌 본인의 이유를 뒷받침하는 logic을 설명해주세요; 직접 내용을 말하고 이를 듣는 것이 왜 효과적인지에 대한 본인의 설명 보충 필요) Moreover, my personal
example can debunk their claim. For instance, when I was a high school student, there were
more things to write than speak. However, after entering university, I have had
many chance to speak in front of other people, like a project presentation.
Also, when I discuss with other people on a specific issue, it is necessary to
speak well in order to express my opinions effectively.

In addition, speaking well is a basic skill, so people who speak well can
achieve writing skills easily. There are many articles which can support my
argument. They expressed doubts that are similar to my point of view. A few
weeks ago, I had a chance to read an article from the Dona-A Daily News that is
related to the topic. It described the results of the survey conducted by the
Seoul National University educational science researchers with more than five
hundred teachers working at elementary schools in Seoul. According to the
article, of the 500 elementary school teachers surveyed more than 80 percent of
them answered that students who speak well are likely to enhance better writing
skills than who do not. The teachers went on to say that students they taught have developed
how to speak first, and they learned how to write later; this shows us that speaking is a
fundamental skill. This is the reason students should learn how to speak first before they learn how to write.

Based on the examples I mentioned above, (주제에 대한 본인 이유를 요약하는 등 다소 짧은 결론을 보충해주세요) I can conclude that speaking well
is more important than writing well.
