Some people think that teachers should give students homework every day. However, in my opinion, I think students should not be given daily
homework. Children need time to (There are
reasons that they need time that they can) relive stress and rest and they
ought to have opportunities to experience various
events. (for having various experiences.)
To begin with, it is essential for students to have
sufficient time to (that they) relive stress. Students today live in a
competitive world, so they have a lot of works to
do. This is why they are very stressed out. Having (the) an outlet for stress has a meaning in itself. It
helps people regain and find the strength to
go on. Students nowadays deal with mental health
problems. (pressure not only mentally but also mentally.) So it can help
students get back on track after enjoying their favorite pastime and relaxing. (rest time
and relive stress by enjoy their hobby.) According to a study published in the
Journal of Higher Education, students who make sure
to rest sometimes perform better than those who don’t. (have a appropriate
rest time get higher performance.) In the
experiment, there were two groups of students from different schools. One group
was given homework on a daily basis and the other group was not. (The
study compares two groups students' score in different schools. One group's
students are given homework on a daily basis while another group's students
don't.) Surprisingly, the students of the latter
group did better on the tests. (from the school that did not require
daily homework get better score on tests than other students from the school
that required daily homework.)
On top of that, students have to experience many things
rather than doing homework every day. Every student is different. Some are good at math, while
others are good at art. (All students cannot
study well. Some students are good at other
things such as playing piano, swimming, and drawing.) They must experience a
wide variety of fields (so as) to find what they
can do the best and what they like the most.
I believe experiencing is one of the most
essential factors of success in this world. Imagine people have only textbook
knowledge. Their perspectives will be so
narrow. By experiencing various things instead of doing assignments every day, they can not only gain diverse
knowledge but also broaden their horizon of the world. For example, my friend,
Jane went to high school that did not give
assignments. Instead, the school let students explore their interests. (comparatively
free high school. Her school did not require homework everyday and give a lot
of opportunities to experience a wide variety of fields.) So she could play the piano every day and she really liked
it. She did not need to worry about
her homework. As a result, she was able to attend a
prestigious music school. (can enter the university and her major is a
playing the piano.)
To sum up, (In this regard,) doing homework daily
interferes with students' rest time to find strength to go on and take the time
to (for) experience other things. In this
regard, I do not support the idea of daily homework assignments.
