▶ Your Answer :
Undoubtedly,
education plays a significant role in many of the places where children work or
play. Some people think that children should have art and music as mandatory
school subject along with math, history, science, and language, while others do
not. If I were asked to choose one, I would say that children should be taught
art and music as mandatory subjects. There are several reasons as follows.
To
begin with, being familiar with art and music improves children’s school life as well as academic
performance. Unlike other subjects, art and music require them to practice with
their body and give them hands-on experience. This is important because it
develops a diversity of aspects of children such as EQ and creativity. This helps them to have interest to their school life. In addition, they need a
refreshment in a boring school life in which lots of exams and homework
distress them. When they recharge their batteries, it brings about a better
result in school life. For example, my youngest did not good in his school. He
has changed little by little after he moved to another school in which
elementary music and art were mandatory to learn. He realized that they gave
him a lot of opportunities to think about the way of playing the instrument
fluently and describing the world differently. After he learned more about music
and art world, he also found his interest in
studying academic subjects naturally. This implies that art and music benefit children with respect to learning more
than that from math, history, science, and language. Without them, he would
have fallen behind.
All
things considered, I strongly believe that the advantage of learning art and
music far outweigh its disadvantage as I have mentioned above. All in all, the
importance of art and music cannot be overestimated in pursuit of the success
in life.
