Some people believe that people can make friends who have same personality with them. However in my opinion, they can be a friend with other people who have different personality. There are two reasons; first, they can experience (What kind of things?) through friends. Moreover, they can gain diverse knowledge through friends. First of all, they can experience indirectly through their friends. I believe experience is one of the most essential factors of success in this world. Imagine people only have friends who are similar to them. Their views will be so narrow. By making friends who are different characteristic from them, they can not only gain diverse experience and but also broaden their horizon in this world. For example, when I was in first grade at the university, I had a friend who are active and funny. He was different from me because I was so silent and passive. He had an ability to communicate with other people. We went to Busan in summer vacation. In Busan, we were staying together in guest house and in evening, there was which hold a party every night. We had a good time in a party. If he were not my friend, I would have been alone.
Second, people can learn new things through friends. It is required for people to have a wide variety of knowledge rather than deep knowledge of one specific field. (Why's that?) A person with sufficient knowledge regarded as 'a person of intellect' in this society, while others who lack knowledge are simply ignored. We can gain knowledge from friends. For example, there was a poll conducted by the board of Korea education, with 300 people as respondents. The purpose of the consensus was to understand about how adults gain knowledge in today`s society. The majority of respondents ranked friends higher over others. An overwhelming 88% replied that they gain new knowledge through their friends. The reason is that friends who have different personality have different interest and knowledge from them. So, they can learn knowledge that they do not know. This survey proves that people learn more knowledge through friends who are different from them. To sum up, people can experience indirectly through friends. In addition, they can gain new knowledge thanks to their friends. Especially, if they have friends who are different from them, they can have these advantages. In this regard, I firmly hold that people can be friends with different interests or personalities.
