▶ Your Answer : Undoubtedly, economy plays a significant role in people’s daily lives in many of the places where they work and play. Some people think that providing job positions for citizens are the most important things to do, while other thinks that supplying lower price food is more emergency for them. Both sides may have their own reasons to support their views. If I had choose one, I would say that giving more people opportunities to work is the most substantial matter for the reasons as follows. To begin with, providing jobs can improve the standard of living. When the government begins to put their effort in making job opportunities, it can creates more fields of businesses, more job positions, and higher average household incomes. This trend has been likely to prevent people from feeling unsatisfied against the country’s leaders. For example, the project that the government supported invented the TV in the 1970s helped decrease poverty rate. The most contributing factor was that the job sectors gave more people opportunities to work and earn incomes for their household. In other words, people with little or no money emerged as the new middle class, which played a significant role in promoting overall GDP. This implies that making job positions for workers is the key to resolve the poverty problem, and thus ultimately gives prosperity to people. Without considering unemployed workers, a country would fall behind. In addition, government funding for other policies such as lowering food prices or supplying not very expensive houses can lead to citizens’ complaints. Government money is made up of citizens’ taxes, which means that they should have a say on how it is used. If citizens start to think that the money is spent on less important matters, they are likely to lost trust in the government. For example, in 2000, the Korea government announced that it would increase its funds on providing free lunches for middle school students and decrease its usage on supporting unemployed young adults. Many people around the nation started to protest against this law, with activists rallying in front of City Hall. They demonstrated to persuade the government to reconsider the funding on the grounds that this policy is not one of their priorities. All things considered, I strongly believe that the advantages of creating job opportunities far outweigh the advantages of providing cheaper food or houses. All in all, getting job cannot be overestimated in the pursuit of one’s happiness. |
