Many opinions may exist concerning the most important factor
to make a wonderful holiday. Some people may contend that a beautiful spot or
awesome dish is the vital cause to determine the quality of trips. Although
each option has its own reasons to support their preference, I believe that a
good company is the most essential component to make a perfect vacation.
First and foremost, great companies make the trip fun and
enriching by preventing people from feeling lonely. People can do so many
amusing things when they travel with their buddies such as taking pictures of
each other, sharing information about travel spots, and going to famous local
restaurants. All those activities tend to make the vacation more prosperous and
memorable. For example, when my brother was a university student, he went on
trip to Paris by himself. Before he departed for Paris, he was filled with
anticipation about all the delicious foods and travel destinations in Paris.
But when he arrived and continued solo-trip, he started to feel monotonous and
even depressed because there was no one to talk and share the beautiful moment.
A few years later, he revisited Paris, but this time, with his girlfriend. He
realized that the impression on the same travel spot was completely different
when he was with someone that he loved. Paris looked more beautiful and
romantic than before because he had a great company to enjoy the moment
together. This case shows that a good friend is the key factor to complete the
travel experience.
Furthermore, having a great dish or visiting fabulous spots
often costs too much money, which is a big financial or psychological burden
for travelers. People are likely to regret their experience if they spend too
much money on the trips. According to a study conducted by Tokyo University,
two groups of travelers showed a huge difference in their vacation satisfaction.
One group were backpackers who went on penniless journey to countryside with
their friends and the other participants went to New York and spent time going
to famous restaurants. Although the latter group had a higher gratification at
the right moment of vacation, it did not last longer than a week. Most people
regretted after they came back from the trip and felt guilty about wasting too
much money. On the other hand, the subjects in the first group cherished their
memory and appreciated the experiences much longer. This result proves that too
much expenditure on great dish or travel destinations may backfire and degrade
the reminiscences of the vacation.
Opponents of my argument may argue that the travel
destination or the special cuisine is the essential part to make the great
vacation. However, good friends to enjoy the vacation together is the most
necessary condition for making valuable memories going a very long way. All
things being considered, my point of views cannot be overemphasized. |
