▶ Your Answer :
Many people have different
opinion about that being a leader is better than being a follower. I strongly
believe that the statement above is true because of the benefits of being a decision
maker and having more chance to learn through leading group.
To begin with, being a
leader means to be a decision maker in the group, so that this opportunity
encourages people to work with more enthusiasm. This is attributed to the fact
that even though followers could suggest their opinions in the process of
decision making, but the final decision is put on the hand of a leader in their
group. With this authority, a leader can design own plan and realize their
desiring in their group. For example, when I was a school president in eighth
grade, my teacher gave a project to decorate class room neatly. Of course, I
listened carefully to the opinions of my classmates, but I could take
initiative to make decision for my project as a leader. Thus, I could work with
more enthusiasm for my class project.
In addition, a leader can
broaden their horizon through the process of making a decision. This is
attributed to the fact that a leader has not only authority to make a decision,
but also responsibility regarding the result of the decision. With this
responsibility, they have to take a time to make a final decision every moment
in order to escape from the failure and frustration. For example, when I was a
leader in military period in South Korea, I had many times to make decision in the
military exercises. Every military exercise was very dangerous that had
numerous possibilities to harm co-workers in my company. For this reason, I
could never decide my own opinion without considering various dangerous factors
carefully. With this experience, I can have an ability to consider various possibilities
before making a decision.
Taking all of these things,
we should agree with the idea above due to the significance of working with
enthusiasm and being a good thinker.
